Our Guide To: Tolt-Macdonald park
Located in King County, Tolt-MacDonald is a hidden gem! We stumbled upon this place when looking for a close getaway with nearby kids entertainment and boy did we find a WINNER! The park and campground are just outside Carnation, WA. With expansive grassy areas, a playground, suspension bridge, trails and a river…. there is no shortage of wonder.
This weekend was one of our favorites. We got to witness a good friend, and fellow mom, run a 1/2 marathon through the park!! (I mean, running a marathon while camping, while being a toddler mom,… WONDER WOMAN ENERGY!) We played in the fields, cooled off in the river and hit up Remlinger Farms for some little kid friendly joy. Remlinger is amazing… they have all sorts of activities for little kids, u-pick fruits (when in season), a restaurant, and lots to see.
Pro tips: Do not miss the fun at Remlinger Farms while you are there! Plan lots of adventures around the campground and park. AND, bring some friends!

OUR MUST DOS: play in the river, walk all of the trails, walk across the suspension bridge, and visit Remlinger farms!
Note for this booking: When we arrived the gate to the campground was closed but not locked. We had to open the gate to drive through and close it when we were inside… I am not sure if this is the standard but, just a heads up if you experience the same thing. Also, there was no place to check-in, we just went straight to our sites.
*There is a trailer dump location just outside the park for a small fee. They only took cash but you could dump on the way out, which is perfect!
Oh, and as always….
