Our Guide To: Steamboat Rock State park

Steamboat Rock is an all-time favorite in our house…. and by that I mean… our oldest child is partially named after this place. Located on Banks lake, this place takes us back to our roots. Picturesque views, lush green grass, large sites, sandy beaches, warm weather, and the best part of all…… NO CELL SERVICE! Now, that might seem like a down side but, we have come to love this place as a way we truly escape from reality. No distractions and notifications. Only days spent cherishing our family and friends we have brought along for the ride.

This place is truly magic. Everyone we have brought has begged to come back and we never go a year without traveling there once (sometimes up to three times). From boating to hiking, biking to corn hole, ice cream to s’mores; this place does it all. If you are lucky enough to snag a site here, you will not be disappointed.

Pro tips: Make sure you grab ice cream and pack all of the floats. It can be VERY HOT during the summer and sitting in the water is the best way to cool off. Also, go with friends… it is the best place to go with friends.
